Additional Learning Needs

We ensure inclusion of all children allowing those with additional learning needs (ALN) to be educated alongside their peers, by providing a differentiated curriculum and individual programmes of work if required.

In accordance with the ALN Act, a register of pupils with additional educational needs is maintained. We seek advice from outside agencies for children with additional needs and have links with the LA, health visitors, speech therapists and outreach teachers from special schools and resource bases.

Children identified as being more able and or talented also have challenging, individualised programmes to help them to develop problem solving and thinking skills. Parents / carers are also involved in these programmes.
